Conference Description

The three-day Summit on Indigenous Service Learning will bring together students, educators, and community members for a series of educational workshops and cultural activities which focus on building a bridge between Service Learning and storytelling. We believe that at its very core storytelling exemplifies a sincere and authentic service to the community, and is an Indigenous Education Model already occurring with our tribal people. Participants will gain valuable knowledge and skills which will contribute to academic achievement, leadership ability, cultural preservation and community wellness. The conference will be followed by the Northwest Indian College "Honoring Indian Education" Pow Wow, May 2-3, 2008.
