Students
Service learning provides students with a broader vision of what it means to be a contributing community member and apply what they learn in the classroom to relevant community situations. Through service learning activities students experience a sense of belonging and empowerment. Service learning builds character as students work together as a team to alleviate hopelessness and poverty in their community. Students learn to think and reflect critically within the context of academic curriculum, and community partners have their legitimate needs met.
