Confidentiality

When students enter the college, their privacy rights are protected through a federal law called the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).  This means that what they discuss with their advisor remains confidential (unless the student shares a concern regarding his or her health and safety or the health and safety of another individual).  We welcome communication from parents and others and are happy to answer general questions about college procedures, resources, and academic programs.  If a student would like his or her academic advisor to be able to discuss confidential information about the student with another individual, s/he will need to complete the following form:
