NWIC encourages individuals with disabilities to undertake and complete a college degree or program. NWIC recognizes that there are a number of disabilities that may make completion of a program more challenging, but that do not compromise ability to meet the outcomes of a respective degree or certificate. The college is therefore committed to providing reasonable academic accommodations and assistance to encourage successful completion of an educational program in ways that provide students with disabilities an equal opportunity for educational development. The Dean of Student Life can coordinate accommodations with enrolled students with documented disabilities. Requests for accommodations or services must be arranged in advance and require documentation of the disability, thereby verifying the need for accommodation or service. Upon documentation and determination of necessary and reasonable accommodations, NWIC will begin coordination of services within two weeks of receiving student information.
