NWIC Golf Scramble Friday, September 30th

Come join us for a day of golf on Friday, September 30th at the North Bellingham Golf Course.  We have a variety of great prizes and raffle items.  All proceeds go toward student scholarships and athletic programming.  We are still looking for sponsors and donations.  Individual golfers are welcome too! Student Orientation September 16th; Classes begin September 19th

Student orientation is scheduled to take place on the Lummi Campus, September 16, from 10:00-3:00 pm. New students must attend and returning students are highly encouraged to attend.  For more information call or stop by the Center for Student Success.

Planting Seeds for Seven Generations September 29th - 30th

The Indigenous Service Learning Program at Northwest Indian College is proud to offer a Gathering called “Planting Seeds for Seven Generations.” The gathering is scheduled to take place September 29th- 30th, 2011.  The gathering will Feature:  Grandmother Flordemayo & Grandmother Rita Pitka Blumenstein from the International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers and Quese IMC - Internationally renowned Indigenous Hip Hop Artist in Concert on Thursday September 29th.

Women & Girls and Men & Boys conference

Northwest Indian College is proud to announce the Annual Native American Women & Girls AND Men & Boys conference.  This conference is for Native Americans focusing on wellness.  The conference is scheduled for August 24–26, at Camp Huston, 14725 Ley Rd, Gold Bar, Wa.

Yes, It Is Rocket Science!

Northwest Indian College just received the results from the First Nations Rocket Launch held May 6-8 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  NWIC took First Place at the First Nations Rocket Laynch Competition.  At the previous NASA USLI competition, NWIC placed 17th out of 33 competing against major engineering universities and colleges. Faculty Advisor, Gary Brandt stated "This experience was instrumental in preparing the team for this competition.  The reports, presentations, and other USLI project requirements really prepared the team to not only compete from a confident position, but also taught them what it takes to be a team and to truly believe in themselves".

Northwest Indian College is inviting qualified CPA firms to submit proposals for single audits for the college and the NWIC Foundation.

Friday, June 17th, the Northwest Indian College Board of Trustees is hosting a reception in honor of NWIC graduates. The Reception is scheduled from 2-4 pm in the Log Building on the Lummi Campus. Following the reception is the 2011 Commencement Ceremony scheduled at the Wexliem Community Building at 5:00 pm, dinner following. NWIC installs new digital reader board sign

Northwest Indian College is now home to a state-of-the-art LED Watchfire digital reader board, which was installed Thursday, May 19.

The electronic sign is visible along Kwina Road, and will serve as a reliable source of up-to-date news, event notices and public service announcements about the college and community.


NWIC Native Foods Educators honored with food and farming fellowship

Northwest Indian College's Valerie Segrest, Community Nutritionist and Native Foods Educator for the Cooperative Extension Department, has been selected as an advocate for a prestigious Kellogg-funded food and farming program.
