Here is a recommended outline of things to include in your proposals.   Please have a draft ready by next Monday, February 25 for Lynn and Robert to go over.  Your drafts will be returned by next Wednesday and then you can go ahead with your final drafts.  See the syllabus for date of deadlines and presentations. 

 

Purpose of your work. 

 

Objectives. (the steps you will take to accomplish your aims)

 

Background. (tell the reader something about the thing you are going to work on, what has been done about it, if anything, the need for the kind of work you are going to do

 

Objectives. (the techniques and specific steps you will take to accomplish your goal such as field techniques in sampling fish, questionnaire design, or review of Native American environmental consulting firms, or inviews of people who know a lot about the things you will study)

 

The end product. (a report on the results of sampling salmon redds and other data on salmon, or data and analysis of attitudes about drilling for  oil in ANWR or about environmental science education for Native American students or about or a prospectus for a Native American environmental consulting firm, or a report on

 

Schedule of your work.   A task timeline – when you except to finish each of the specific tasks.  Estimate this, or guess it, if necessary.

 

Personnel.  Who will do the work?  You only? Will you need help from other people?  Who are they?

 

Equipment, funds, and support services needed.  How much money will your work cost for salaries, stipends, places to do your work (office space), equipments, travel, computers and other equipment, computer paper and miscellaneous items such as pens, pencils, copying.
