SUMMARY:5th Annual Treaty Day Film Festival
DESCRIPTION:On behalf of Darrell Hillaire and Children of the Setting Sun Productions\, you are invited to a special Tribal community screening of “Our Sacred Obligation.” As a part of the 5th Annual Treaty Day Film Festival\, the event will take place on Jan. 18 at the Silver Reef Casino. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the program begins at 6 p.m. It is free admission and snacks will be provided! \nIf you miss out on this event\, you still have a chance to participate! What was once a single day event has turned into a three-day festival to share these powerful films with more people and increase the impact on our community\,” CSSP writes. “Each event will include an opening ceremony with traditional dancers and song. The festival will center around CSSP’s latest documentary\, ‘Our Sacred Obligation.’ This inspiring film focuses on the importance of dam removal for the survival of salmon.” \n

SUMMARY:New Student Orientation
DESCRIPTION:New Student Orientation – Spring 2023\nNew Student Orientation is the first step in discovering the experience at Northwest Indian College! Through meeting our community\, making connections\, and learning about a wide variety of choices\, orientation will help transition you into life at Northwest Indian College. Welcome to your second home! Check our our New Student Orientation page to learn more! \nNew Student Orientation will take place Friday\, March 24\, March 31 and April 7 \nWe’ll be raffling off one $100 Visa gift card and one NWIC swag bag for participants who attend all three sessions. Pre-registration required to qualify. \nOrientation Sessions\n10-11AM – Set up your Student Account \n12-1PM – New Student Orientation (Day Session) \n1-2PM – Checking in with Financial Aid \n2-3PM – Ordering Textbooks \n3-4pm – Technology Success \n5-6PM – New Student Orientation (Evening Session) \nRegister Here \n  \n\nNorthwest Indian College launched our new online bookstore last quarter. This means that there will be a new process for ordering your books. Along with New Student Orientation on Friday\, March 24\, March 31 and April 7 we will be hosting a Zoom session to support students ordering their books through this service. Zoom info will be sent to student emails.\n\n\n\nFirst Year Experience and Passport Advisor Shoshaunee Perez says:\n\n\nThe largest change with this system is that it will require that you request your book “voucher” or line of credit at least 24 hours prior to ordering your books. This means that if you would like to join the book ordering session on Friday\, March 24 at 2 pm PST\, you will need to request your voucher by 12 pm PST on Thursday\, March 23. This is a difference from using E-Campus as you were able to request the voucher and then use it right away. You will also need to make sure that you have your student email account working as that is what is needed to sign into the new bookstore.\n\n\n\nRequest your Book “Voucher”- a “credit” line of $300 that can be used in the first 2 weeks of the quarter to purchase books\, and applies the charges to your student account through the E-Campus Website. This will allow for your financial aid or scholarships to pay for your charges.\n\n\n\nGo to the book voucher website\nLog in with your student username and password\nAccept the conditions on the screen\nYou now have your $300 “voucher” and can move on to ordering your textbooks.\n\nTo sign up for New Student Orientation and the textbook ordering session on Amabassador via Zoom\, fill out this registration form. \nQuestions?\nContact Shoshaunee Perez
