Distance learning is a mode of learning where you do not meet in-person for your course and your class exists only online. We use Canvas for all Distance Learning coursework.
On Canvas, you will find your readings, turn in coursework, find your grades, and communicate with your teacher.
Depending on the type of course, you may meet at a specific time on Zoom or you may only be completing coursework on your own time.

Canvas is the Learning Management System for Northwest Indian College—which means it is the software we use for online grading, class assignments and often communication.
Even if your class is 100% in-person, teachers at NWIC use Canvas for resources, assignments and grading. Your class’s Canvas page will be the best place to check to find the syllabus and assignments.
If Canvas seems a bit intimidating, have no fear! We have handy step-by-step guides here!
