Online Chat with a Librarian

The librarian you chat with will not be from the Lummi Library, but will be available 27/7 to answer your reference questions and will have access to the library’s databases.

Collections in the Library

  • Circulating collections: the library circulates materials of general interest and those that support the curriculum. There is a focus on Native American materials, particularly of the Pacific Northwest Coast, and with strengths in law, education and art. Video materials (DVD and VHS) include popular and educational titles. Young peoples’ collections include picture books, fiction and nonfiction.
  • Non-circulating collections: The reference collection includes general and subject-specific titles such as encyclopedias and handbooks. Items of local interest which would be difficult to replace are housed in special collections. The Vine Deloria, Junior Collection houses the author’s personal library.

Electronic Collections

The library subscribes to a number of electronic resources including databases, electronic books, and on-line versions of periodicals. Contact the library for logins and passwords.

Computer Lab

Twenty computers with internet access, Microsoft Office software and printing capacity are available to the college and community.

Whatcom Libraries Collaborate (WLC): One Card, One Community

The One Card program allows anyone who lives, works, or attends school in Whatcom County to borrow materials from any public or academic library in  the county and return them to any library or bookdrop.

With photo ID and proof of address, anyone who lives, works, goes to school, or owns property in Whatcom county can register at any of the six academic and public libraries in Whatcom County. Materials can be borrowed from any library and returned to any other library or book return.

Materials from WCLS and BPL can be placed on hold and delivered to the Lummi Library for check-out.

Policies regarding number of materials checked out, length of check out period, renewals, fines, etc. are those of the lending library.

Please contact any participating library for details.
