About

Purpose Statement:  The Sponsored Programs Office provides guidance in seeking potential funding sources to meet the needs of the College in alignment with the College’s Strategic Plan or Mission: Through Education, Northwest Indian College Promotes Self-Determination and Knowledge.

The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is responsible for submitting grant applications and accepting grant awards on behalf of Northwest Indian College.  All awards must be made to Northwest Indian College, not to individuals.  OSP works with faculty and staff who are encouraged to seek grants that support the College’s Strategic Plan and/or Mission Statement.  Funds can be sought from public and private agencies, foundations, corporations and individuals.  Institutional Assessment and Planning is key in determining if it is necessary and/or appropriate to seek external funds for research or sponsored programs.

Authorization to Pursue (A2P) Funding

Every proposal submitted for external funding to any agency or organization must receive administrative approval by the College before it is submitted.

Employees that have evidence-based need for funding, in alignment with the current Strategic Plan, Core Themes and/or Mission Statement must submit an Authorization to Pursue (A2P) form via:

Authorization to Pursue Funding – Submit to sponsoredprograms@nwic.edu

OR

SurveyMonkey A2P – Notify sponsoredprograms@nwic.edu to retrieve A2P

Be sure to save your A2P form using the following format:

     A2P-FunderName-ProjectName-DueDate (i.e., A2P-NSF-Student Scholarships_3_15_2022)

A2Ps should be submitted as soon as possible or a minimum of two (2) weeks prior to the agency application due date. Administrative approval comes from the employee’s supervisor, with final review and approval from the College president. Technical assistance with writing grant proposals is available upon request.  Note: request for technical assistance should be made as early as possible.
