Accreditation

Northwest Indian College is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU).

Accreditation through NWCCU is a voluntary process that recognizes an educational institution has met or exceeded the eligibility requirements, standards for accreditation, and policies related to supporting mission fulfillment, student achievement, student learning, and student success. Institutions accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities are required to examine their own missions, goals, operations, and achievements. Part of the accreditation process involves expert analysis by peer evaluators who determine the institution’s performance, integrity, and quality, and provide commendations for accomplishments and recommendations for continuous improvement. This process provides confidence to the educational community and the public at large that the institution has met the eligibility requirements and standards outlined in the criterion for accreditation.

Inquiries regarding NWIC’s accreditation status by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities should be directed to our Accreditation Steering Committee at accreditation@nwic.edu.
