On behalf of Darrell Hillaire and Children of the Setting Sun Productions, you are invited to a special Tribal community screening of “Our Sacred Obligation.” As a part of the 5th Annual Treaty Day Film Festival, the event will take place on Jan. 18 at the Silver Reef Casino. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the program begins at 6 p.m. It is free admission and snacks will be provided!
If you miss out on this event, you still have a chance to participate! On Jan. 21, two screenings of the film will be shown at the Pickford Film Center in Bellingham, WA. Purchase tickets for the 10 a.m. or 12:45 p.m. showing for $10 on the Pickford website.
“Treaty Day is an important part of ALL of our history and that is the message we want to convey as we embark on this journey. What was once a single day event has turned into a three-day festival to share these powerful films with more people and increase the impact on our community,” CSSP writes. “Each event will include an opening ceremony with traditional dancers and song. The festival will center around CSSP’s latest documentary, ‘Our Sacred Obligation.’ This inspiring film focuses on the importance of dam removal for the survival of salmon.”
