Lummi Campus closure T/W/R, Nov. 16-18, 2021, due to inclement weather
As the severe weather continues, which has resulted in the closure of local school districts in Whatcom County, the decision was made to close the College for the day, including the cancellation of all classes, because we did not want to risk staff traveling to campus given the precarious conditions, including flooding of the roads. This is also includes classified staff who should not travel to campus tomorrow to submit timecards/sheets. Additionally, we are taking extra precautions based on reports of power outages, or the possibility of power outages, due to high winds and downed trees.
As recommended by the Lummi communication updates and local public safety notifications, community members, and specifically, staff and students, are advised not to be the roads and minimize travel, unless for emergency reasons, and to keep roads clear for emergency vehicles.
Unless notified otherwise by the employee and/or supervisor, classified staff will be paid at 80 hours for the pay period ending November 11, 2021. However, if there is overpayment after review of the actual timecard as approved by the supervisor, then the overpayment amount will be deducted based on the options per the Personnel Policy Manual. Please contact payroll and your supervisor if you have questions.
Brunch and dinner will be provided for the RLC/Dorms students per the inclement weather policy. Interns will be also be paid for their hours as determined by their PAF and/or supervisor.
Classes for the sites will be local, in-person classes only, with limited services. Any virtual classes taught from the Lummi campus will be cancelled.
Thank you for your support and understanding. Please stay safe.
