Summer Quarter (OL, VC, LC) Classes Extended by One Week
In light of the cyberattack that we’re recovering from at many levels, the Online (OL), Video Conferencing (VC), and Learning Contract (LC) courses for the 2019 summer quarter session will be extended for one week. The extended summer quarter end date for OL, VC, and LC courses will be Friday, August 9, and grading will close on Monday, August 12.
This decision is made in consideration that the virus began impacting the College on Wed. July 10, and although Canvas may have been accessible for some, access was limited for others until passwords were reset. Once passwords were reset, we were back up and running on Tuesday, July 16. This was a five day impact where most systems were down.
Please note that face-to-face courses were not impacted and therefore will continue to run as originally scheduled, and will conclude on Friday, August 2, 2019. Grading will be open starting this Monday, July 22 for these courses, if needed.
Since grades cannot submitted electronically yet, the Enrollment Office will be sending all faculty grades via paper grade-rosters to complete. Incomplete agreements will also be available, as applicable. We will have a paper-based form created for this purpose for this summer term only.
