Public Notice of Final Finding for No Significant Impact and Environmental Assessment for Northwest Indian College Health and Wellness Center 2522 Kwina Rd, Bellingham, WA 98226 CHA 286600
To: All Interested Agencies, Groups, and Individuals The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is an independent grant-making agency of the United States government dedicated to supporting research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities. This is to give notice that NEH, accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, the Council on Environmental Quality regulations for implementing NEPA (40 CFR Parts 1500 through 1508) and the NEH NEPA implementing guidance, NEH has determined that Northwest Indian College (NWIC) proposed construction of a 15,600 SF Health and Wellness Center on its campus located within the Lummi Reservation in Bellingham, Washington, will have no significant adverse impact on the quality of the human environment. A draft Environmental Assessment (EA), Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) were prepared and made available to the public for 30 days. No comments were received, and the documents are now final. Because NEH has determined there will be no significant impact an Environmental Impact Statement will not be prepared.
