NWIC Delegation Advocates for TCUs in Washington D.C.
A delegation of NWIC students and staff join President Guillory in advocating for the College and sister Tribal Colleges and Universities at the AIHEC Legislative Conference in Washington D.C. The team met with Washington state and Idaho congressmembers to share their story and ask for their support.
The team met with 11 Washington state and Idaho representatives and their staffs, heard from Sec. Deb Haaland and toured the National Mall. On Feb. 6, President Biden made a presidential proclamation declaring National Tribal Colleges and Universities Week.
The NWIC Delegation met with WA State Reps. Kilmer, Larsen, DelBene, Schrier and Strickland as well as the staffs of WA Senators Murray and Cantwell, ID Senators Risch and Crapo and ID Reps Simpson and Fulcher.
