Lummi Library Director retires after 16 years of service
Northwest Indian College thanks Lummi Library Director Valerie McBeth for her 16 years of service as she retires this week. As Director, Valerie oversaw the transition of the library from the Lummi Day School to its current standalone building that opened in 2014. She was also integral to the procurement and care of the Vine Deloria Jr. collection. Valerie made contributions to the Federal Depository Library Program, was a Washington State Book award judge and served on the Whatcom READS steering committee since the beginning of the program.
The Lummi Library is not just the academic library for Northwest Indian College, but serves the Lummi community and is open to the public! Come visit us Monday – Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Books, children and youth areas, the computer lab and so much more are free to use!
