Northwest Indian College Board of Trustees Announces President Transition
The Northwest Indian College Board of Trustees announces the transition of NWIC President. Dr. Justin Guillory served as the NWIC President for 12 years after being appointed by the NWIC Board of Directors in 2012. He served five years as the Dean of Academics and Distance Learning, one year as Dean of Extended Campus Sites, and three years as the NWIC Nez Perce Site Coordinator and Adjunct Faculty.
Under Dr. Guillory, NWIC completed the 2017-2024 accreditation cycle — reaffirming the College’s accreditation in Summer 2024 — launched three of its now four bachelor’s degree programs and became an accredited distance learning institution. As President, Dr. Guillory and his staff guided the College through the COVID-19 pandemic to grow the college to a proficient level for distance education and gain new skills through virtual platforms for non-academic staff to operate at a distance.
“We would like to thank Dr. Guillory for his contributions to NWIC for over 20 years. He guided NWIC through the difficult, distressing years of the Covid 19 pandemic. Particularly through the shift from face-to-face classes to on-line/video conferencing. It required quick and necessary responses to the impacts on the college, students, staff, and faculty – just to highlight a few of the many undertakings as President, Dean, Site Coordinator, and faculty,” said D. Petroske, NWIC Board of Trustees Chairwoman.
During Dr. Guillory’s tenure, NWIC completed campus construction projects including the new $8 million Health and Wellness Center (June 2024) and the new $3 million Community Resource Center, expected to be completed in January 2025.
