NWIC Mountaineers Explore the Outdoors
NWIC Mountaineers Explore the Outdoors

The NWIC Mountaineers are a student club focused on helping NWIC students experience the great outdoors! The club is open to all NWIC students, and weekly events and activities are always on the calendar.
What’s New
- Moving forward with keeping everyone updated on the club’s gatherings we have decided to use a weekly newsletter.
- We’d like to invite you to download the All Trails app to get current information on local trails.
- We’d like to remind you that several trails require a Discover Pass and obtaining one is important.
- We are implementing a new schedule. Our weekday hikes will be local. Our Sunday hikes will be scheduled by difficulty and we will not host a 4th Sunday event.
Weekday Walking Group
We have a walking group that will meet at NWIC near Eagles Market around noon this week. This is a classic stroll for our community members known as the Kwina Mile. Staying active is important and we challenge you to join us. Students, staff, and community members are welcome. If you have suggestions on where we should meet next, reach out to club president Monica Little.
Sunday Hike
Our Sunday hike this week will be Stimpson Nature Preserve. This trail is located near the Sudden Valley community. It is kid-friendly, however not pet friendly. We will meet on Sunday, May 1, 2022 8:30AM. This loop is approximately 2.9 miles and takes an estimated 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete. First Sunday hikes will be our easy day hikes.
